JOSELITO CASTILLO
OWNER/DIRECTOR
Joselito Flores Castillo is the proud owner and director of South Side Dance Force. Joselito studied at Cornish and Santa Barbara CityUniversity. His studies of dance include Mexican Folkloric, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, and his favorite, Modern dance. He has also appeared on numerous musicals throughout the west coast. Joselito has been teaching dance for well over 25 years; still he enjoys every minute of it. “Art is not measured by the height of a kick or the amount of pirouettes; I believe that now is the time for all artists to come together as one to build a strong foundation in which we can better our community through the love of dance.”

ALAINA DALE-WITTER
(formerly CHARBONNEAU)
HIP HOP/TAP INSTRUCTOR/JUNIOR COMPANY DIRECTOR
Alaina started dancing when she was 9, and has been trained in many styles of dance from Ballet to Belly Dance. She specializes in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Modern. She was a part of SSDF’s Competition groups DaCapo and Fusion from 2001 - 2004 and was in SSS Co from 2004 - 2007. She taught for SSDF from 2004 - 2007, and will continue to teach Hip Hop, Tap, and Direct SSDF’s new Junior Company this coming dance year. She has also dabbled in musical theater as a performer, and choreographed a few musicals in 2008. She recently returned from a brief stay in Spokane where she completed a cosmetology course and competed in the IECA Hair competition (Winning 3rd place with her makeup in Evening Glamour Fall 2009). While attending beauty school she choreographed runway presentations and hair shows. She looks forward to expanding her creativity and is very excited to be back home at SSDF.

CHRIS NAUTA
BREAK DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Chris has danced his entire life and started his professional career at the young age of 16. He traveled the world performing all styles of hip hop. His choreography is unique, trendy, precise, and energetic. His goal is to bring back purity and passion in the hip hop style of dance. He’s been featured in music videos, as well as toured with celebrity musical artist such as Chris Brown. He recently moved back to the Kent area from traveling with a performing arts team called H.Y.P.E where he was involved in MTV and Spike TV events. His passion is to teach young people how to make this hip hop dance style their own so they can grow as a dancer and as an individual. He believes the expression of dance leads to the building of character.

TANYA WALBERG
LYRICAL/JAZZ INSTRUCTOR
Tanya Walberg is a new instructor but a veteran dancer of SSDF since 1998. She has been dancing for 6 years, specializing in jazz and lyrical. She was a member of SSDF’s performing groups, DaCapo and Fusion. She went on to compete in local dance competitions, performed in the Renton River Days Parade and Kent Cornucopia Days Parade. After graduating from Charles A.LindberghHigh School in 2004, she went on to receive an AA in Business Administration fromHighline Community College. She’s currently a senior at The University of Washington where she’s studying art. She returned to SSDF in 2010 and was a cast member in a theatrical piece based on Erik Korhel’s book, “My Tooth Fell in My Soup”. She’s looking forward to working with SSDF and Joselito on future projects!
