     South Side Dance Force believes that art is not measured by the height of a kick or the amount of pirouettes, but by the passion to simply articulate and use the body as a vessel for the true dance experience.  Join us in this wonderful journey of dance!

    REGISTRATION

    (non-refundable / annual): $25 for all dancers; due each September; Not required for drop-ins. Form must be completed for all dancers. Dancers enrolled in level 3 and higher must register for 2 days per week. (Excludes Hip Hop and Tap); Pointe dancers require a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week.

    TUITION: (non-refundable): Monthly tuition is divided into equal payments for lessons received for a full 10-month dance session (September through June), not on lessons per month.  Payments remain the same each month regardless of attendance, school closures, holidays, etc. Tuition cannot be prorated. 

    All dancers are required to pay tuition no later than the 10th of the month. A $15 late fee will apply if tuition is received after the 10th month. Please view our tuition/fee schedule online or at the studio. NSF checks will incur a $25 fee. Delinquent accounts must be made current for dancer to attend class. Dancers with outstanding balances will not be registered for following session.  Drop-in rates must be paid at the beginning of class.  Multiple-Class/Individual Discount: A 10% discount on tuition is available when an individual/family purchases 2 or more classes.  Only 1 dancer of a family will receive the discount.  No discounts on classes under 1 hour.  Each family must have a $0 balance in order to participate in the Performances. ***Tuition will increase each year on an average of 4% to 10% due to increased rent and studio expenses.***

     REFUNDS: Class tuition fees are NOT refundable. Credit to your account will be honored in the case of prolonged illness or severe injury. In these cases, you must notify the office immediately in writing. 

    There are no refunds given for tuition due to absence or withdrawal from class.  There are no refunds on tuition paid in advance. No refunds for weather-related studio closures. 

    NO refund for costumes and SSDF is not responsible to provide costume in the event dancer withdraws from class.

    ATTENDANCE: Consistent participation is important for optimal learning of technique and ultimately for accuracy of performance. Missed classes may be made up in the same month or with approval from the Director. 

    In the event of inclement weather or power outages, SSDF does NOT offer credits or refunds. Every effort will be made to provide makeup classes to dancers as time/instructor availability permit.

    INSTRUCTORS:  In the event an instructor cannot attend class, every effort will be made to provide a substitute instructor.  All substitutes will be approved by the Director.  If it is necessary to cancel, the makeup class will be rescheduled within 1 calendar month. Options for makeup may include 30 minute extension to multiple weeks or held on different day. No additional makeups will be provided.

     CLASS ATTIRE: Dancers must be dressed appropriately for classes. 

    ·       Ballet: Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoe, hair in bun; Boys: White T-Shirt, black pant, black ballet shoe

    ·       Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap: Black shirt, black jazz pant, capri, or short and class appropriate shoes.

    COSTUMES: There are various performances throughout the year. Costuming will be required for each performance, and will be determined by the instructors. A non-refundable deposit of $50 per costume per class will be due by October 15th each year. NO REFUNDS! A $15 late fee will apply after October 15th. Dancers are responsible for purchasing their own undergarments, shoes, and makeup.

    WITHDRAWALS: Withdrawal from a class between September and June requires written notification (30 days) to Office Management to accurately update your account. A fee of one month’s tuition is assessed for all withdrawals. If you do not notify the office of a withdrawal, you will be billed and late fees will apply accordingly.

    HOLIDAYS/BREAKS: Studio will be closed for Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Memorial Day each year. All other holidays, classes are in session unless otherwise posted at studio. SSDF follows Kent School District calendar for the above closures.

    PERFORMANCES: Admission by purchased ticket only.

    ·         Holiday Show: nominal costume fee may be required.

    ·         June Production:  This performance ends our yearly dance session.  This is an opportunity to feature the hard work and skills developed by the dancers throughout the year.

    NEWSLETTER ~ A monthly newsletter will be e-mailed the first week of every month to keep everyone updated on studio information.  Please keep us updated on your e-mail changes. 

    SPECIAL EVENT FEES: Dancers are to be picked up immediately after event is completed. A grace period of 15 minutes is allowed. In the event an instructor/staff must wait with dancer greater than 15 minutes, parent will be charged $5 per 5 minutes thereafter up to $20. Invoice will reflect additional charges. 

    POLICIES & PROCEDURES: “ZERO” tolerance policy for disrespect to any instructor, office staff, fellow dancer, parents, and other studios.  Support maintaining a clean and safe studio environment. 

    STUDIO STANDARDS:

    ·      Arrive 5 minutes before class starts, ready to dance (hair pulled back & no jewelry)

    ·       Walk in quietly, sit quietly, and wait for instructors

    ·       ‘Dance Shoes’ only are allowed on the studio floors

    ·       Water only is allowed in the studio. No food or gum!

    ·       Cell phones must be turned off during class.
